The "Urban Africa Project" at Wake Forest University explores the rich urban history of Africa, countering the stereotype of Africa as primarily rural. This course, "Urban Africa," focuses on how city dwellers, not just leaders, have influenced and experienced life in African cities from colonial times to the present. It highlights African urban centers as places of interaction, resistance, and cultural innovation. The project offers a platform for undergraduates to publish their work, engaging with broader academic discussions and communicating their findings to the public.
